We took a nice outing to Target this morning on the city bus.

Shopping Spree

It's a pretty day. We got some good exercise and sunshine. We saw some pretty stuff at Hannah D's. We went out to eat for lunch. It was a lucky day!

Barbecue

Today we rode on a bus to Pok-e-Jo's for lunch. It was good food. We also looked at the animals at Petco.

DPS

Today we walked to the Texas Department of Public Safety Office. (DPS) We talked to a woman who worked there about the requirements for getting a State ID Card made.

Bowling

We went bowling today at Main Event. It was fun and good exercise!

Election Day

We went to see a polling place today and one of the officials explained the voting process. We saw the voting booth, a sample ballot and got an "I Voted" sticker.

Pumpkin Patch

We went on an outing to a church today. We looked at pumpkins and took pictures. We saw the office where they make copies and do shredding. We saw lots of flowers and a big inflatable black cat Halloween decoration. On the way, a dog barked at us.

Coffee Break!

We had to take a coffee break, sit outside and enjoyed the weather. We watched the vehicles drive by.

Group Home

What a beautiful day for an outing! We walked, we rode the school bus, we hopped on the city bus as well. We were out and about looking at a couple of group homes in the area. It was a real eye opener which we all enjoyed.

Apartment

We went to look at an apartment complex today. It was very interesting and a little different too. After we left we had to stop and look at the animal art at the dentist office. Then we ate lunch at Wendy's. What a beautiful day!

Fall Weather is Wonderful!

This was a week for going. It was wonderful weather - cool in the mornings but sunny. We went to the Public Library two days. One day it was closed! Checked out a book on CD. That's pretty cool. We also went to Firehouse Subs one of those days and got a sandwich. And some of us went downtown again to the City Bus Office for a bus pass. We've crossed a lot of streets.

Getting caught in the rain...

We went to Starbucks, Wal-Mart and What-a-Burger on the city bus this week. It was a rainy week, so one day we didn't go on an outing. Bummer! We got caught in the rain briefly going from Wal-Mart to What-a-Burger, but we had our umbrellas and a rain poncho.

Shopping

We took the city bus to Target last Friday. We did find some of the things that were on our shopping list and some of the items on our list cost more than we could afford. We had a nice lunch at the Target snack area. It was a nice day but a little hot.

Outings

What a great week. Some of us took a walk to the park one day to shoot hoops. They had resurfaced the court and it was pretty nice! It was a beautiful day, but very hot. Others had to work that day at TJMaxx. It was a lot of work and a new experience. Some of us also took a long trip down to get bus ID cards made. The bus trip was nice. We enjoyed eating our lunches that we packed while we were downtown.

Yesterday's Outing

We went to the mall. We ate lunch. Two people bought dessert - cookies with M&M's and creamy icing between the two cookies. Mmmmm!!! They were yummy good. They shared with everyone. We went to Game Stop. One person looked at magazines. Ooh-la-la! One person checked on the price of a Wii game. It was $199. It came with a box and Wii Sports game. We went to the music store and listened to music on headphones. One person danced. Two of us rode the city bus by ourselves. One person pushed the stop request button. When we came back we made Oreo Cheesecake, then we took a walk for one hour.

No Outing Today!!!

We tried to go on an outing today but it started raining. We took a walk to the bus stop and then came back because it was raining. First we put our rain ponchos and umbrellas away, then we looked up Subway's menu on the computer and decided what we wanted to eat. We called Subway on the phone and ordered our sandwiches.
We played Wii while Maluski went to pick up the food. When Maluski got back we ate lunch. We played Wii again before cleaning up. It is still thundering and raining. What a messy sloppy day!!! But it's good to have some rain. Now we are writing a blog. It's a good day to stay inside.

Outing Today

What a nice day! We caught the bus going South and got off at the shopping center nearby. We stopped at a pet store just to look around, then we checked out the menu at La Tapatia. Next we walked to the Post Office, bought stamps and mailed some letters. After that we went to Taco Cabana to see what their meals and prices were like. We took a vote for which restaurant we wanted to eat at and La Tapatia won, so we walked back over there and had a huge lunch for a very good price. The service was excellent! We all sat at the same table and almost everyone had the lunch special. We put money in the juke box and played some Mexican music. That was our Cinco de Mayo celebration! Everyone paid for their lunch and left a tip as well. There had been an accident near our bus stop so while we were waiting for the city bus we watched a couple of tow trucks put the car and truck on their beds and a couple of policemen with their police cars investigate the scene of the accident.

What a full week! We went to the Mall on the city bus. We walked to the park and played basketball and had a picnic. We hosted a movie in 901. We made juice with a juicer, which was delicious! We walked to Taco Bell today for lunch.

April 23 Outing

We looked around this thrift store, Savers. It was nice and clean. There were some fun things there to look at. No purchases made. It didn't rain although it looks like it could have in this picture. We had lunch with some friends from Austin at Hat Creek. They make delicious hamburgers and fries!!! Yumm!

April Outing

We went to the ice skating rink at Northcross Mall. We tried to eat at a table outside but it was dirty. That was discusting. We went inside and ate by the ice rink. It was cold. The room was 45 degrees. We ate sack lunches. We went to the guitar store. We ran to the bus stop because a bus was coming and almost got on the wrong bus. Some people bought sodas, others bought bread and cookies and we had a snack while waiting for the bus. We took a lot of pictures. It was perfect weather for an outing.

Today's Outing

What a perfect day for an outing! We went to the Mall but we missed our first possible bus so we didn't have much time for shopping. We ate lunch there and came back in time to do our other activities in the afternoon.

Outing at the end of March

We took the city bus South to Target and bought some candy and an egg dying kit. Then we walked to the Arboretum, bought hamburgers or sandwiches and ate at the picnic tables in the park area. It was fun!

Oops! Skipped one - Sorry

The outing before the most recent posting was to the Public Library, HEB and Firehouse Subs for lunch. It was a lucky day! The luck of the Irish!!! Some of the lucky ones were not Irish. We all celebrated together though. Thank you to Firehouse Subs. It was a great grocery shopping experience and we enjoyed the library time as well.

Downtown

We walked to the City Bus Stop. We all got on and rode to our transfer point. The chair lift was broken on the first bus that came, so some of us waited for the next bus. The others went downtown and while waiting for the rest of our group, some of our group walked around the park and others went to the bus office. We all met back at the bus stop downtown and then found our way to the Go Project. They had lunch for us there - great pizza, ice tea and cookies. We talked to the other group and listened to some songs on the computer. Some of us got to go see the kitchen where they work. Then we went back to the bus stop. We all rode back together and many of us fell asleep. It was a nice bus ride.

Today's outing

We went to Burger King. It was very nice. The food was excellent and the price was great! We all did good practicing riding the city bus. It was a gorgeous day!

Outing Today

It was a cold day. We went to the city bus stop first. We waited a long time in the cold. We rode to a bus stop near Denny's. We had to walk for 5 minutes to get to Denny's. There were a lot of people there. We had to stand outside for about 10 minutes waiting in line. It was way too cold! We waited about 15 more minutes inside for a table, but it was warmer. We got a Free Grand Slam Breakfast. Hurray! It was delicious! We had great service. It was a great deal. What more can you ask for? Then we had to go outside in the cold again to wait for the bus. A warm building sure feels good!

We took a new city bus route on Friday and stopped for lunch at Burger King. It was a great eye opener. There are more places to go and things to see within our time limit using this bus. Hurray! This is a very nice Burger King with lots of trees around it.

We went to Main Event today and ate lunch at Double Dave's. It was great weather. We did a lot of walking.
